Review on πŸ“‘ Cisco-Linksys E3000 Wireless-N Router: Superior Speed and Reliability for Seamless Internet Connectivity by Troy Gerhardt

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I've been using it for 7 months and it's amazing

E3000 is by far the best WiFi router for home networking needs, connecting multiple devices to the internet and building a wireless home. I've tested several aspects of this router in the last 7 minutes and it's no surprise that it's still almost the same price and a top seller. Here is my review: Setup and Installation: Very smooth, simple and easy, no crashes at all. Guest Access: You can create a separate guest network with a simple password (optional) when you have visitors. You don't have to share your own network's password. You can turn the guest network on and off at any time. Network Connectivity: CISCO Connect is a great tool to manage your network. This allows a USB stick, once plugged into any computer, to set it up on your network. Dual band network: The E3000 provides you with two separate networks. One for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz. The 5 GHz band is less crowded and therefore better suited for streaming online content. Please note that not all devices are equipped with a 5 GHz receiver/WLAN adapter. Most laptops only have 2.4GHz adapters. However, media streaming devices such as Blu-ray players (Sony BDP-S570 3D Blu-ray Disc Player), network connected TVs and iPads have 5 GHz adapters. You can purchase the Cisco-Linksys AE1000 Wireless High Performance Wireless Adapter for your laptop.-N if you find it necessary Otherwise, 2.4G to 802.11N is very fast Connectivity: Very Good I have a good signal in my apartment, upstairs and outside Design: Looks very stylish and elegant Blue detail on the outside It's antenna so it doesn't have those two vertical antennas that look so bad. WDTV Full HD Digital Media Player - Recertifies laptops and 2 iPhones on the network address. Disconnect 2.4G and 5G networks, connect a network disk, etc. This is for advanced users. Otherwise, CISCO Connect is the simplest and easiest way to manage network name and password, guest access, and parental controls. USB Port: There is a USB port on the back of this router that allows you to connect and share an external hard drive. I use it to store all my media files and view them directly on my TV via WDTV or BD player. Also, I can wirelessly copy and paste files to this drive. CISCO Support: I contacted CISCO twice by phone and once through their website via live chat. The first time it took the technician a while to fix my network connection issue. The second time, the girl helped me set up a hard drive as network storage very quickly and efficiently. The third time the chat support was good too as the guy gave me instructions to reboot my router and reconnect to another computer (no hardware issues, that was my request). I liked their chat support on WebEX as all chat transcripts were emailed instantly. That later helped me with the reset. Overall I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it for high speed home networking.
