If you don't have a connection, they send you to the internet. Hm?

Lots of disruptions and "problems". For example, our home network consists of three PCs and a Mac. There will be no problem with the old LinkSys WRT54 router for Mac. This Mac cannot print. no matter what we do (And we're very tech-savvy.) Now that support is a thing of the past (or has gone abroad for people who can only read help screens and really have no idea what you're talking about) if you have a complex device like this router raises many questions. First, the really annoying thing isโ€ฆ

  • Mostly ok, but...

Bought used as it was significantly cheaper in 2014. Back then it was a product that was at least 3 years old. it has served me for about three years, and today after a little research I found that it was "bricked up". Which basically means it's fried I guess. There was a big storm here and I assume the power went out although I wasn't home at the time. Even though it was plugged into a surge protector, it must still have been overloaded. Nothing wrong with that, not the fastest speeds but itโ€ฆ

Serious lack of quality control

I had an E2000 that was having a problem. Linksys sent a new device to replace it, but I also bought this one because I've expanded my use to TVs and other devices. The setup is almost automatic and the devices were connected very quickly. The device sits on my desk, has a very clean profile and works flawlessly. I also appreciate the gigabit speed. It definitely got noticed. I originally gave 5 stars but less than 2 months later I have to reevaluate my comments. It's difficult because I'm aโ€ฆ

Still the best router/WAP for Tomato

I recently wanted to install a new version of the Tomato USB firmware on an e2000 and fully expected something would go wrong, so I got a replacement e3000 for it. The real reason I wanted to do this was to have a second radio that I could use to run the 40MHz N network and the 20MHz B/G network and not have any conflicts. Installing the tomato USB firmware was trivial and involved downloading the firmware. for e3000 and perform a software update via the e3000 interface. The reason I like thisโ€ฆ

I've been using it for 7 months and it's amazing

E3000 is by far the best WiFi router for home networking needs, connecting multiple devices to the internet and building a wireless home. I've tested several aspects of this router in the last 7 minutes and it's no surprise that it's still almost the same price and a top seller. Here is my review: Setup and Installation: Very smooth, simple and easy, no crashes at all. Guest Access: You can create a separate guest network with a simple password (optional) when you have visitors. You don't haveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great choice

  • Nothing here

I worked in remote computing and application software development and support from 1961 until I retired a few years ago. This router is the first WiFi router I have installed and attempted to use in my home. My network was configured with a 4-port 100 Mbps router connected to a cable modem, which I replaced with an E3000. Management of "non-advanced" settings. Working with my wired clients (configured as Windows for Workgroups with my own workgroup name, not the default name) I was havingโ€ฆ

Not perfect, but works as long as you download alternative firmware!

As with most routers I've seen here at Revain, the ratings are low and there are many complaints. And like most routers I buy, I only select the ones that I can install DD-WRT on. My home setup uses three routers, all connected on the same subnet. Because this router and my WRT-400N have dual radios (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz), neither is my primary router and they serve me more as remote switches and remote wireless access points. (I'm running an E2000 with the radio turned off on the "Network" shelfโ€ฆ

Broke within 2 years!

I bought this a few years ago to ensure decent WiFi coverage in our 3 bedroom apartment. I also wanted to connect my old hard drive to it to act as a NAS. Unfortunately the signal strength of the router was not very good and I was disappointed. After a short research I decided to flash the DD-WRT router. While I was aware of the risks involved, I had no choice as the router didn't want to serve every area of the house. After everything was done with DD-WRT, I quickly increased the router'sโ€ฆ
