I bought this a few years ago to ensure decent WiFi coverage in our 3 bedroom apartment. I also wanted to connect my old hard drive to it to act as a NAS. Unfortunately the signal strength of the router was not very good and I was disappointed. After a short research I decided to flash the DD-WRT router. While I was aware of the risks involved, I had no choice as the router didn't want to serve every area of the house. After everything was done with DD-WRT, I quickly increased the router's transmit power and it was able to reach every room in my house. I tried not to increase the power too much. Although everything worked fine for more than a year, one day the router just broke. It just didn't load. I've tried restoring the firmware, calling Linksys support, but nothing helped. In fact, Linksys support quickly gave up, saying the hardware was broken and I couldn't do much with the router. Not a good experience with a router I've spent around $150 on.
