Review on Record Player Turntable Precision Leveling by Amicz Kakaruk

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cool idea, should be higher

The concept is solid, the price is right and the benefits are hard to argue with. The spindle is the true measure of how horizontal a platter is, as virtually everything radiates outward from it, making it the perfect measuring point. The only problem with some turntables is that the spindle is too tall for that small washer. You need to make sure it is laying flat on the record or preferably the turntable platter mat and not wobbling on the tip of the spindle when checking the level. As someone said in another review if the spindle is too high and you break the washer you can push the level out of the washer. With a bit of material that would be more versatile. It works fine the way it is, but you may have to work around an important technical flaw. Be aware of this and it is a good product. Also, most new turntables are likely to have a short spindle. My vintage desks tend to have tall spindles for some reason.

Pros
  • As before everything
Cons
  • Repair
