Review on Pepperell Natural Slate Chalk Pencils 5-Pack with Built-In Sharpener by Katie Peterson

I read in reviews that these pins were almost useless unless you had a specific board. Not knowing which one I had, I decided to give it a go. Well they don't work. (They leave no chalk marks when writing). I have other crayons from a different brand and they work, but the line they leave is lighter than real chalk. This is a compromise I can accept, as you can get a much thinner line for writing lists, for example, but it's harder to see from a distance). But I suspect the bottom line is that chalk pens aren't as good as real chalk, but the right brand might be fine for your purposes. That didn't work for me. (On the plus side, I can use sharpeners for other pens!)
