Update: Today I'm reducing the star rating to 1. The speaker no longer works. Check all connections to eliminate other possible causes before blaming the speaker. I guess I should have bought the old version I had before. They have endured many hard years in my work cart. This has lasted a little over a month since installation. I started giving this product 4 stars because it is plastic. As for the sound quality, it's not bad. pretty good. I installed this in a ported box in the back of my work truck (97 Mountaineer). It replaced an earlier, higher quality (steel basket) version of the same 1200W PYLE Blue Wave subwoofer. Sounds like a newer version of what I replaced (my intentions). I also paired this with a very cheap 1500w (yes that's right!) Planet Audio 1-channel amplifier which is closer to 500w RMS. This speaker seems to handle it quite simply. My biggest issue and the reason I gave it 4 stars is the plastic container. I knew something was wrong the first time I picked him up off the porch. I thought they sent me an 8 or 10 inch instead. No, only plastic. And now the exam. I live in Arizona. Summer is coming. I'm scared for this speaker as I hit it pretty hard after seeing a couple of 115 degree days. Along with the weight of a 70 ounce magnet hanging on the side of a plastic basket, bumps and heat in my work truck. The rainy season. So til fall or winter when I decide to update this review I'll keep it 4* for sound, price and availability!
