Review on Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens - Compatible with Canon DSLR Cameras (Lens Only) by Jasmit Singh ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

At first, the difference with the whale lens, apart from aperture, seemed insignificant to me, and the quality was worse in comparison with the whale (18-55mm f / 4-5.6). It just turned out to be an illusion. The subject surpasses any whale in general in many ways: sharpness, excellent bokeh, frame stabilization. If you are not satisfied with the kit lens and variable aperture, then this lens is simply the best, even with all the shortcomings I have voiced. The best lens for crop. It weighs heavily, but it is powerful itself, and its power is confirmed in operation even in the most difficult conditions. The footage is just fantastic. At first I didn’t understand what the difference was, but after a while you, like me, will never find glass better than this to replace anything. I have been actively exploiting it for 2 years, replacing the whale that is resting in the box.

Pros
  • • Most importantly: copes with work in poorly lit rooms and at dusk, sometimes even a tripod is not required outdoors • Constant aperture • Excellent picture quality, nice bokeh, excellent stabilizer
Cons
  • • The weight • Likes to attract dust • Weak design for such money: backlashes of the trunk begin after 2 years (if I'm lucky) of operation. It falls off due to its own weight. • It happens that when shooting at a wide aperture, blind spots appear, and the focus is focused on one object (even if the entire composition is being shot) • The stabilizer is noisy (minor disadvantage)

Got pros: Excellent stabilizer + I tried to photograph an ordinary brick wall during the day at 17 and at 55 (with the same hole 2.8) So it' Got cons: The lens is certainly good for everyone, For a girl, I think it will be a little heavy.

objectively, the best cropped zoom lens for cropped canons . it will even be a pity to leave when switching to 5D II .
