This item worked as a standard memory module when installed on the motherboard. I am using MSI a320m Games Pro with Mystic Light Sync programmed via MSI Gaming app (make sure my motherboard has RGB control capabilities before proceeding). I was very happy to get HyperX as it is made by Kingston but quickly became disillusioned. I installed it on the motherboard, the RGB indicators did not light up. Thought it should have been activated via the motherboard controls. Switched on according to the controller and nothing happened. Updated BIOS, all MSI and RGB applications still didn't work. Tried another RAM slot, unfortunately still without success. The speed is spot on as long as you enable XMP and can probably be overclocked, although I haven't tried overclocking it. I was able to control motherboard lighting and RGB expansion perfectly, but RGB wouldn't work at all. Pros: The price is amazing for the speed and RGB capabilities (if only it worked) Sturdy metal construction, no movement in the heatsink. Cons: Poor RGB flash drive returned for a refund.
