The handle is too flimsy for my large dog

I like this collar because I like walking my 95lb retriever off the leash. When I know others are approaching, I call him and grab his collar so he doesn't get too friendly. (No, don't embarrass me if I wander off-leash. It stays on the trails and we don't leave tracks.) So I wanted this "durable" collar that I can hold on to when needed. However, the handle on this collar is too narrow and not strong enough in the long run. I know it will break and I will try to get another one. Great idea, but there has to be one stronger than this.
