Great Sound: The sound quality is really great. Especially for such a price. My dog ate my first pair of Image S4s I've had in 4 years so I decided to use a reference instead of an image hoping the thicker wires would make them a bit more durable. It's not that the pair of images is weak. Everyone. And that I love Klipsch's signature copper color scheme. I understand the difference between the Image and Reference is in the aesthetics, but I swear my pair of Reference S4s sound better than the pair of Image S4s I had. I would definitely buy the Image or Reference S4 again. I don't have to look anywhere else for headphones. I recommend the TX-100 foam tips over the silicone tips that come with the S4, they will completely transform your listening experience. Bad Wires: Typically, high quality wires are insulated with a material that has little to no "memory". i.e. when it is wound up for storage and then unwound. No twisted mess left when you wear the headphones. Klipsch has completely dispensed with this. While the wires can be insulated well. The insulating material looks very cheap and I feel like I have to almost partially melt it to flatten it out. I'm not a fan of cables, but these headphones offer very good sound quality. Only the cables are annoying.
