Review on 🚲 Delta Cycle Rugged Michelangelo 2 Bike Rack: Secure and Sturdy Bicycle Storage Solution by Kyle Rock

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good stand but needs more wall clearance

My bikes fit just fine, an old Trek 820 steel hybrid/road bike and a newer Trek Fuel EX 8 mountain bike Lever placement approach: one under the nose of the seat, the other under the lower frame. The stand is easy to assemble, good quality, looks good and is pretty solid for a gravity system. With my two fairly large bikes, one of which is heavier steel, it sure won't fall over. The only problem is that both handlebars on my bike are hitting the wall, I need about 5 inches of extra clearance (see photo). I was able to spin the wheels, but then the tire hit the wall. Window frames (behind the wall) at the moment, but that's not a permanent good place or solution. I emailed the company and they said they sell longer arms but only 3 inches longer so they still don't work for my bikes. . I'm planning on adding something to the top back of the rack to give it 5" more clearance to fix my situation, just not sure yet what I'm going to use to keep it from looking crappy. The company has responded well to my emails, it's just that I don't have a solution to this problem. I think if you have traditional drop bar (rounded) you should be fine, but be careful with straight bar bikes! That issue aside, however, I like the stance. .*Note: I did NOT receive a discount on this item for my honest review. I bought it at the regular price Revain listed it at so you know my review is unbiased. It's a good stand. UPDATE 9 months later: now that I already have a stand I wanted to sort out the steering wheel and wall issue. I chose not to attach anything to the top rear of the rack for stability. I went ahead and bought 4 longer arms. from a storage company. Although I doubted they would fix my situation. Bring the tires closer to the wall by rotating the support arms outward so the front of the frames and tires are further away from the wall. My handlebar barely touches the wall (within an inch) so it works. I also bought a pair of Park Tool HBH-2 handlebar mounts, which prevent the wheel from spinning, keeping it parallel to the wall (without twisting the tire). The 4 grips and handlebar mount add to the overall cost of this setup for me, but I find it to be a better option than other bike racks I've tried. I'm careful not to hit him and I'm very careful putting my bikes in and out or I'll dent the wall. I still love the stand!
