Review on ⌚ VibraLITE Mini: Black & Orange 12-Alarm Vibrating Watch for Enhanced Effectiveness by Nicole Hefton

Works well but short lived

We have such a love-hate relationship with this watch! We bought our FIRST ONE a year and a half ago for our special needs son, 8, who doesn't understand when he needs to go potty. His pediatric urologist recommended we buy him a vibrating timer watch to remind him to walk regularly. We bit the bullet, paid a lot of money and got it. It worked great and he started using the potty when he passed out. The clock then rose and died after about 8 months. We tried replacing the battery but that didn't help. We couldn't find anything else that seemed better, so we bit the bullet again, pulled $ out of our savings, and bought another one. Hooray, back to those great potty reminders! Well, 6 months have passed and the second watch has died. In fact, it still shows the time like a champ, but the alarm won't go off anymore. We just don't know if we can keep paying $50 for these watches. We can try again because there is simply nothing else that matches our son's condition. But it would be great if this watch could AT LEAST last a full year before retiring. And I would like to point out that my son is not particularly picky about his watches. Because of his special needs, he is not very active and always takes his watch off very carefully when he takes a bath, etc. So there is no operator error.
