Good heater - Best warranty - Defective timer design

Ordered a 120v heater with timer through Revain. the seller was My PlumbingStuff. I used regular shipping but received my heater early and in good condition. The heater is a very nice device. Here are some comments: Slim and attractive. The appearance of the device is pleasant and fits into any home. Mine went to the bathroom. There were no installation instructions. There are a few rudimentary drawings showing the dimensions of the device, but no actual instructions on how to mount it on the wall. It's not difficult, but a clear diagram showing where to drill holes for the mounting brackets would help a lot. -- Any complaints you've read about the ridiculous placement of the power cord on the top of the device where it's visible are correct. This is swindle. But that's not really a problem for me in my application. This ensures that the power cord will never get hot from the heater itself. You will need a 1/2" Romex coupler and three wall brackets. It would be nice if they included these little details. But that's understandable as they can. I'm not sure what wall you're going to place it on. Each option requires its own type of attachment. The heater weighs about 8 pounds so it can easily be installed to drywall.I used thumb screws which screw into the inside of the wall and then block. This is a nice fixture also have to remove the c=nt heater with two screws on the bottom front this is very easy heat output is adequate but not outstanding some of the reviews i have read lead me to believe it will blow harder than it does The heater is also adequate but no 'oven' This is in an 8 x 10 bathroom with 9 foot ceilings The temp went up 3 degrees in about 20 minutes so not that bad imm. The fan is also pretty quiet. You can definitely hear it, but it's just a low hum. In addition, the thermostat control is stepless and has 3 levels. It's just a mechanical thermocouple. It turns on and off. Mine came with a timer. But my timer doesn't work. When you set it, it sounds like an old-fashioned kitchen timer, but it never gets close to zero to shut down. That's why I only gave 4 stars. Today I called the manufacturer and spoke to Josh. He was very helpful. He sent me a new timer. He says I can easily replace it myself and it won't void my warranty. So I think that's a very good service. By the way, I immediately registered the device on their website before I found out that the timer was not working. However, Josh gave me some interesting news. The NEW heater I bought from My PlumbingStuff appears to be four years old! When I gave him the serial number, Josh asked if I bought from Revain. It was new in the box but they must have kept it all along. The warranty is only 3 years but Josh says they will continue to honor the 3 year warranty. That's what I call great service. If they can handle that, I'll come back here and give it a star. Well I think My PlumbingStuff should have made it clear that they sell products that were made four years ago! As far as I know it has never been used and is not a discontinued model; but I just thought it should have been revealed. So buyers beware. I could buy the heater locally and not risk the warranty. But if Stiebel Eltron is successful, they will definitely earn five stars. There will be updates. ========================== UPDATE in a month. Add 1/2 STARS! Stiebel Eltron has excellent customer service. They quickly sent me a new timer and didn't ask any (unreasonable) questions. I just set the time but it didn't work either. I called Josh and spoke to him again. He consulted with his manager and it was agreed that they should also send me a new thermostat. After a few weeks, the time mostly works. I don't understand it, but sometimes it seems to stick. I tried one thing that might have been the problem all along. The timer control knob seems too close to the heater body and I suspect it may be being pulled towards the body. I managed to squeeze it out a bit and it seems to have worked! If so, then this is a silly and useless issue that shouldn't be, and Stiebel Eltron should investigate and make some adjustments to the design. The thermostat and timer knobs fit very close to the case and don't reach for it, but I think that might be the problem! So I'm deducting 1/2 star for the poor design and also the location of the power connector. BUT I have to thank Stiebel Eltron for their excellent and prompt attention to my problem. I still think this is a quality instrument and I would recommend it. However, I could have just gone for a model without a timer since it seems so finicky. When it comes to heating, it does a decent job. You can hear it, but it's not loud or annoying. It's well made and solid. It doesn't actually blow out as much air as I was hoping, but it raises the temperature in my bathroom by about a degree every five minutes. So far I haven't let it run longer than 30 minutes at a time. I'm still watching it work, but I'm sure Stiebel Eltron will do its best to take care of me if it keeps crashing. I can't say that about many companies these days! ==============Update after 3 months. Despite the best efforts of the company's service department, the timer is not working properly. I think it's some kind of design flaw. My guess is that the timer button sticks and shakes against the body, preventing the timer from rolling. I've already spent too much time working on it and just didn't have time to explore it. I have to comment on the company's efforts to rectify the situation, but I have to cancel half of the launch because of the timer. At the moment we only use one thermostat that works well. I would recommend just buying the non-timer version and avoiding the hassle.
