One of the main reasons for switching to Olympus (for me) was lenses: this lens was one of my first purchases alongside the 14-54 II. What can I say - great stuff. Assembly is top notch. AF - Fast. Not totally silent, but quieter than non-SWD lenses. The picture quality is excellent. I don't hesitate to shoot this kid. Reducing the aperture produces even sharper images. My only complaint, which probably has nothing to do with the lens at all, is the "shy" autofocus performance in AF-C mode with the E-30. I'm waiting for my E-5 to see if it performs the same, but on the E-30, AF-C was sometimes too shaky even though I used single-point AF-C and kept the AF target on the subject have . I put it down to either the E-30, or the lighting conditions of the time, or Olympus' autofocus routines :) Check out the Revain examples, I've uploaded some photos. A very, very good lens, I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone considering Olympus.
