Review on Brass Monkey Cards Playing Game by Peter Nobles

Terrible design that breaks cards

This is the worst deck design I have ever seen. Card designs should have white borders so that one card cannot be distinguished from another. All face cards are easily visible due to the stripes when viewed from the side of the deck (see images). Also, the cards are only meant to show their corners so you can read what numbers/suits they are if you have a hand of 13. These cards have no corner numbers and are therefore useless for any hand greater than 2. Also high cards are not compatible with aces which have an A in the corner while k, q, j have a suit symbol. Finally, some of the cards are semi-transparent depending on the backlight, which makes it terrible if you have a lamp behind you while playing cards. This was designed by someone who has never played card games in their life or even thought in advance how they might be used. The designer should be ashamed and fired. The rule book is fine, some games have some obscure rules that an editor who knows how to play games could use.
