Great for the price

I bought it for less than $250 and I'm surprised it works as well as it does now. I've never run out of battery and I still haven't noticed any shake in my videos despite using a heavy 85mm lens on my Sony A7RII. You'll need to buy an accessory to raise it higher, or a flexible arm to set it on the floor so the cable can still be reached without tugging on the camera. Also, be sure to tighten the battery case well, otherwise the gimbal will accidentally come off when it comes off. This happened when I was filming an event for the first time and I lost some amazing shots while sorting them out. I thought it was tight enough but you have to twist it really tight. This hasn't happened again, so it's easily avoided. It's a bit tricky to calibrate as the metal tends to snag a bit, but that's not such a big issue that I bother putting some silicone on it. It doesn't come with a stand, so you'll either need to buy one ($15) or have a tripod handy. I use my tripod to balance it and then attach an external microphone to the bottom. The attachable stand might be easier to carry, but the tripod head has a built-in spirit level, so I think it's better for balancing on uneven surfaces. There are other things to consider. If you want to put it back in its case, you'll have to adjust it, which means it's out of balance. Once it's taken out of its case and balanced, you can easily leave it that way. I was afraid taking it off the plate to change the batteries would throw it off balance, but it works great as long as you put the camera back in roughly the same position. The only time it became unbalanced was when two or three dials were not tightened. I did notice that it shifted when I lowered it, but I don't know if they loosened up over time or if I just somehow forgot when I was in a hurry. In any case, a good mechanical steadicam can cost almost as much as it is vulnerable. wind, and they can cause severe shoulder pain very quickly. This mechanical gimbal gave me silky smooth shots even while walking and no physical pain after holding it for about 7 hours. I think it's not that good for natural movements. The highest pan speed is relatively slow and tends to pan the scene too far (it will move a little further if you want it to stop). Nothing to worry about. Consider starting and stopping the movement early to keep everything in frame, using the joystick before or after critical frames so you can edit the robot's movement later. New models of stabilizers allow you to perfectly adjust the settings and provide fast, natural panning without effort, so it's really a matter of comfort. As long as I'm happy

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine
