I purchased the first rug pad after I got my basement floor epoxy coating, and wanted a softer feel to my new throw rug. The epoxy over cement floor is nice in the basement, but a little too hard for a family room and play room. The 7/16 felt and rubber backed rug pad is working great. Just right for the playroom, not too soft, not too hard. The rug does not slip. I made sure the rug pad is smaller than the rug. After the success of the first 8 X 10 rug pad, I got a 5 X 7 rug pad, the same 7/16 felt and rubber backed pad. It's working great in my family room and adds just the right amount of comfort to my new carpet. It comes packaged nicely. You just unfold and unroll it onto the floor and put the rug on top. Easy. I'm glad I got the 7/16 in pad, over the 1/4 as it has that little extra comfort factor.
