I use them to keep the water in the aquarium crystal clear. We have 55 and 20 gallon aquariums with goldfish and artificial plants. Aqueon is used for start-ups, cleaning cycles and water changes. Simply open the package and place as instructed. It helps reduce algal blooms and milky water. Very easy to use. I always keep a two month supply.
