Review on LEDAUT T3 Titanium Turbo Blanket Thermal Cover With Fastener Springs For Enhanced Turbocharger Heat Shielding by James Turpin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This DOES fit a LLY Duramax

Although I haven’t got a chance to run my motor yet since I’m still upgrading it, I just wanted to clear up the question that YES, this will fit a stock OEM LLY duramax turbo. That is what I just put it on. A 2004.5 LLY duramax 2500HD. I powder coated the front housing and installed a 10blade whee in it but other then that, it’s all stock turbo. You will have to remove the blanket to get to 2 of the turbo manifold bolts when installing the turbo back on. With that being said. You do not have to remove the turbo to install this. You will delete your OEM heat shield off the back Exhaust housing.Over all the quality of this is very nice. It’s thick and stitched up very well.I’ll update in a few months after I use it.

Pros
  • Work great, look good. I was a little skeptical at first but beyond impressed once I had them installed.
Cons
  • The springs may fail to hold the cover in place, which can result in damage to your engine
