Review on ๐Ÿ”ฌ Swift SW380T: High Magnification, Trinocular Compound Microscope for Research Labs with Wide-Field Eyepieces, Mechanical Stage, and Camera Compatibility by Allan Lambert

Typical Chinese quality

Well I spent more money than I should have bought what I thought was a better average microscope. I unpacked the Swift 380T for the first time and so far I am not enthusiastic. The upper swivel collar is loose and very cheap in construction. Two threaded pins and a knurled screw serve as bearings and tensioners. For real? And should it hold focus when the eyepieces are rotated 180 degrees? The eyepieces are inserted into the head of the binocular eyepiece very easily, without friction and without holding screws. You stagger again and again, all movement and concentration are lost. Even my cheapest telescope has the best mechanics for all optics. The stage seems to be better constructed; The movement is smooth and seems to work at the expected level of quality. The lamp is fine, but the aperture does not close 100% and lets through light at the lower end of the lever range. I am very concerned that the optics themselves will be of poor quality. like a mechanic holding them in place. I don't expect APO quality, but since the mechanics don't even allow for reasonable optical path stiffness, I don't see how even good glass can perform with reasonable expectations. At this point I guess I got a cloning tool. not exactly a Swift product. I will use Swift to verify that the serial numbers are indeed yours. I will also post an update after experimenting with the oscilloscope, but for now I just want to package it up and send it back to Revain. Bullet.
