Not only can be used with batteries.

As others (and the seller) have pointed out this does not work, if you just put in charged batteries and connect a load it will output zero volts between the P- and P+ terminals. You need to connect an external charging voltage (16.8V) to P-P+ to make the BMS "turn on", after that you can remove the charging voltage and then the BMS will output voltage from the cells. Therefore, if your application is not constantly connected to the charger, it will not work.
