My hips are 14 inches wider than my waist. All my life I've had to take an inch off my waist on everything. MOST seamstresses/tailors/cleaners DO NOT KNOW how to properly adjust the waist. I am fortunate to have a tailor who unpicks the seams on the sides to put my trousers/jeans on. It's expensive, but you'll get the right fit. With my pear shape, like most, if you take it from behind you lose length in the butt, which is NOT good for a plump butt. They are very comfortable around the waist on the sides and the pants stay upright! This is only day one so we'll see how durable they are.
