The burning smell that people complain about will go away in a day or two. This is normal for this type of product. A few installation tips: #1 Tape the ends as the fibers will fall out immediately #2 Soak the reel in water before use #3 Use the fasteners sparingly, break in half or more #4 Drive in for a few hours been around for a few days, the smell goes away
