This product works well as a diffuser. The only problem is the attachment system to the hair dryer. The way you attach it is to twist it a bit to widen the section at the back and then insert the blow dryer and stop twisting. There's no lock, however, and the section is less than an inch deep, so the hair dryer just sort of clings to it, but doesn't really stay in place. It crashes often and is never reliable. The collapsibility of this product is practically nil. Only a tiny part at the back folds down, and that might give you an extra inch or two of space. Do not buy because of the fold.
