I installed one of these units in my bathroom which had a standard 1970's 3-prong double socket. It has the same TEST and RESET buttons you'll find on the built-in GFI socket. I chose this product because it does not require rewiring or hiring an electrician. An added benefit is the increase in the number of outlets from 2 to 5 (although I rarely need more than 3). Please note that this device plugs into double wall socket on both sides, gets power from one side and uses the other side to make the installation more stable.
