There is a 19 year old Subaru Impreza. With CarPlay, I need something to hold my phone when it's plugged in and not have to worry about my phone rattling in the cup holder. This base expands incredibly and fits very securely in a cup holder. First I tried to put a magnetic disk in my case, but it created too much volume and didn't fit. Don't worry I just put it right on the back of my case. They offer four plates (2 round and 2 rectangular). I was driving around with my iPhone 8 Plus. It connects firmly to the mount and holds well. Very happy. It's easy to recommend this one if you need a short base as it's really short (but just what I wanted).
