I bought the bronze version to give it a more stylish look. I can say that this finish is very nice and adds a lot to the aesthetics which I think is worth the extra $3. The fan itself is nice. calm. It has one speed and is turned on with a switch on the back. The arch that supports it at the back has a single rubber slider that keeps it balanced and easy to adjust if it loses balance. It blows a pretty good, steady airflow. More than enough to get a nice breeze on your face when you're 2-3 feet away and it's aimed at your head. It's far nicer than similarly priced fans and I would replace it entirely if I had to. It is USB powered and can be powered either directly from a laptop or hub, as well as from a monitor with a USB port. Its size is a bit above average for a desktop fan, but it's worth it. That. The smaller fans have to spin at a higher RPM to produce the same amount of air, so they're a lot noisier (I had a smaller fan that I had to get rid of because it was annoying my Cube buddy at work.
