Review on SMC Pentax FA πŸ“· 50mm f/1.4: Exceptional Low-Light Photography Lens by Danish Affndy ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

A small (in fact, the smallest of all systems) fifty dollars with an aperture of 1.4. Autofocus, by the standards of Pentax, works quickly and accurately even in low light. It's soft enough wide open that it makes you think of shooting portraits, but it turns out that the bokeh is not that great compared to 77 lim. Extremely sharp starting somewhere from 2.8. Nice and very reliable design. The overall impression is extremely pleasant.

Pros
  • Small, bright fifty dollars. Sharp on closed apertures, quite soft on open ones. Good autofocus.
Cons
  • Bokeh is so-so.

Aperture 1.4 is a miracle, but only for focusing, as all lenses focus at their widest aperture. This allows you to catch focus even in very low light. But you can shoot with such a hole only static objects :) And you need to be careful with her, because. due to the lack of a hood, you can easily smear the glass with your fingers.

Different pros: * relatively frisky * aperture *fits into pocket :) Cons below: * no hood - in the backlight it is very strongly felt
