Review on Enhanced Bluetooth 5.0 Amplifier Stereo Audio Receiver, 2 Channel Mini Hi-Fi Class D Integrated Amp for Home Passive Speakers (Model: BT20A-S) by Dan Buycks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly what I meant. Small but powerful. Great sound and functionality.

Except for the long-term quality aspects, which only time will tell, I can sum it up and simply say buy this unit. I like the sound produced by this device. I am very happy with this purchase. I needed to find a replacement/alternative for an old school (18 year old/Panasonic) RIP receiver that did double duty for music and home theater. Panasonic used 2 high quality front speakers and a decent 12 x 20 center speaker in the room. Overall sound quality was very good with the exception of the dialogue in some movies and TV shows. While looking for alternatives to replace the receiver and possibly upgrade the center speaker, the mini bluetooth amplifier came to my attention as a possible alternative for music. I was looking for full-size A/V receivers, but finally settled on a home theater soundbar and this amp for my orphaned speakers. The previous device's nearly 20-year lifespan left me unfamiliar with current offerings, but I did foresee and expect. Something compact and powerful with Bluetooth and the ability to connect a wired device like my iPod. On my second try, I came across the FOSI BT20A-S mini bluetooth amplifier. I like the sound produced by this device. I am very happy with this purchase. When I hooked up this amp I was very satisfied. The sound was outstanding and particularly impressive for me, as I had only had experience with much larger devices. There are debates for and against the merits of different classes of amplifiers and the quality of digital music; All I can say is that the music coming off my phone and going through this amp via Bluetooth was excellent with a quality speaker set. The same applies to IPOD via wired line-in. Without an active sound source, no sound comes out of the speakers at all. When I turned the volume up louder than I'll ever hear (12 x 20 room) there was no distortion or interruption. I listened to different genres of music as well as spoken word podcasts. I love this amp and was very pleasantly surprised that this tiny device could be so much fun at such a relatively reasonable price. and Qualcomm) and point out that the amplifier chips were located under a heatsink that was much larger than the chip itself. This is a clue since the first amplifier I tried (one of the "also very small white, oval, red aluminum cases ") had a heatsink that barely covered the chip and the device got so hot I couldn't touch it and it bounced back. although it also produces a great sound. In a video review of this Fosi amp, the reviewer was concerned about the heat from such a small and powerful unit and measured temperatures (inside and outside/before running and one hour later) with a moderate temperature change and within published specifications. Chip. Again completely satisfied with the sound, I would only say that the second one is not as loud at maximum volume as the one I returned (but loud enough). I'm of an age where clarity is more important than loudness and in that context I feel about 60% loudness is more than enough for my room and would easily suffice for an open space twice that size. The most important thing for me after having to return the first device was that after 2 hours of gaming at a higher volume than I needed, the case was slightly warmer than when I first turned it on.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
