Review on πŸ”§ Upgraded Beck Arnley 201-1788 Backup Lamp Switch for Enhanced Performance by Michael Lara

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I will not be buying another Beck Arnley replacement part.

I bought my T100 new in 1993. The original reverse light switch lasted 19 years before it started leaking out of the transmission oil, occasionally dripping onto the garage floor. Bought a Beck Arnley replacement in 2012 and installed it as part of a transmission oil change. Aside from the fact that this 19-month-old part has been leaking at a plastic-to-metal joint for months, this past weekend a Beck-Arnley switch failed in the most horrific way (shorted to ground), blowing a fuse and blowing it. Replacing the fuse resulted in the fuse blowing immediately when the key was turned to the ON position. It took several test evenings before the short circuit was found. Found a shorted Beck-Arnley backup switch today. The short will be confirmed once removed from the truck (and will update this post accordingly).
