Okay. I'm a gadget fanatic. A few years ago I bought a metal grater from Japan. It was viciously sharp, but it was blood stripping ginger threads from it. So I replaced them with a small ceramic grater. I liked it but this one has a larger reservoir so I can rub more without having to stop to empty and clean. It's stable even for my large hands and macerates easily. I mainly use it for ginger and daikon, but I've used it with carrots for color and zucchini. Celery paste is also an interesting side dish. And the usual radish as a salad dressing. So yes. I love this little animal.
