I have been using an infrared thermometer every day for many months, mainly to check the temperature of my grill. I have to say it works well. So if I was initially dissatisfied that the probe thermometer wasn't working, I dismissed that and upgraded my rating from 2 to 4 stars. --- First Check --- Probe thermometer stopped working after 1 day. battery problem? I don't know, but I can't afford the time or money to fix it, check the battery, or send it in. In addition, this thermometer probe did not have a tight-fitting case, so it could be carried in a special pocket on the sleeve. Garbage. That extra thermometer made me decide to go with this particular product and not another. So; I am deceived As for the IR thermometer, so far so good.
