It does serve it's purpose and keeping dogs from biting. Our German Shepard has been trying to assert dominance, and she's bigger than our other dogs, so we had to protect them from her teeth. The 2 times since we got this she's tried to go after our alpha have been thwarted successfully, everyone is happy and gets along feeling safer now while we continue training against this.The only thing I don't like is it slides off her head all the time, so we are constantly readjusting it back into place. The length is good, there's just nothing that holds the top head strap firmly on the top of the head.
