Review on MySplint Moldable Thermoplastic Strains Sprains by Joey Gilbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Tight, comfortable fit with good wrist support; nice step by step instructions

This heat activated, custom-fit wrist splint provides support for my wrist. It keeps my wrist firm, comfortable and relieves pain. Although it is a one size hoop and I have a small hand/wrist size, the three straps allow me a snug fit. The middle strap, which is the longest length, is very sticky. Sometimes I find it difficult to insert when I want to remove a tire. But I prefer strong straps as this tire will hold up well for a full day. How to use (there is a step-by-step guide on the product packaging): 1. I put the splint in the attached box and put it in the microwave for 35 seconds.2. After that I take it out of the microwave and let it cool down for 5 minutes.3. Then I splint my right wrist and fasten the top and bottom straps. Then, as instructed, "I gently massage the thermoplastic so that it lies against the wrist, and then hold the wrist still until the thermoplastic sets (10 minutes)". Once I feel the thermoplastic harden, I tighten the center strap. Not sure if the thermoplastic is a perfect fit for my wrist/hand but I enjoy using this brace as it provides much needed support. An important note: According to the product description page, "The patented MySplint thermoplastics can be molded up to 5 times while retaining their stiffness and strength." It wasn't soft yet, I heated it another 10 seconds, then another 10 seconds. There is no mention of what happens when I try to reshape it for the 6th time, although I don't intend to reshape it as it fits my wrist well. Overall, this is my first time using a scale wrist splint and I love its performance so far. I could not find any faults in this product; as such there are 5 stars.
