Review on πŸ₯€ Matrix, 2 Liters / 67.6 Fluid Ounces by Crystal Carlson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Real matrix, NOT garden gravel.

I have been using the Sechem matrix for about two years now. In my opinion this is the best biomaterial available for home aquarists. I have never had a problem with mini bikes or losing a cycle in any way since using it. You get a much larger surface area for bacteria to grow on than any other medium I've used. Today I received my second bottle of Matrix from Amazon (other bottles were bought from local fish shops). After reading some of the reviews on Revain I saw some people talking about having garden gravel in their container and worried that the bottle didn't have a seal. I took a quick look at what I received today and I don't see such a problem. There really wasn't any pressure, but the product is definitely Seafhem Matrix. I honestly can't remember if the bottles I bought from LFS were printed. But what I see at first glance in my newly received bottle is nothing short of genuine sechem matrix. I didn't reset the bin to test the soil but will use this over the next week or so when I set up another filter. If I suspect something is wrong I will come back to correct my review but having previously purchased this from Revain with no problems I am sure it is good too. I have attached two pictures for reference.

Pros
  • The matrix can be used in any filter and is particularly effective in an external filter
Cons
  • Protection
