update from 11.14: only used a few times, the first pair is not even long to count. Made a 6 week trip at the end of the summer, used the last half until the battery died, charged and it stopped working. Now only a small distance is lit (5 or 6 lights). It looks like a broken wire. Supposed to have a one year warranty but I haven't had a response from the company yet. May 2021 The product is a very strong flexible rubber. I love the colored lights and they are bright! Recharging is easy and enough for a week's travel around the campsite. Haven't tried it in water yet but can't wait to try it.
