I wore them while hiking in a cave in Belize. I originally bought this for a boat trip and also just for relaxing on the beach (I saw people stepping on sea urchins! Oops!) and it worked great! The boots dried quickly and I was able to walk 2 miles on level ground to a jungle cave. I had to climb the slippery rocks in the cave and it was fine (maybe a bit slippery but that goes for most shoes). I wouldn't overdo it for hiking, but they're great for both light hikes and city walks. . You will have stones under the soles of your shoes, but that is inevitable. Very comfortable, stylish, love it! I'll probably wear it all summer as I hate wearing socks.
