I've hooked up a couple of server fans on an open bracket directly to an old GPU with a fan that heats up fairly easily. They did their job: they lowered the temperature of the video memory on the GPU by several degrees just by airflow. However, even at the highest settings, they are NOT very strong! If you need STRONG airflow and don't need passive airflow, these fans are not for you. They help, but being so big and bulky you would expect a stronger current. They have four nice legs so you can place them under any spot that needs airflow from below. Overall, they definitely have a use case, just don't expect big rushes!
