I have had several of these collars. We have had this collar since March 2021. I have never had a problem like last night. I heard our dog start screaming outside. I went out and found that the collar shocked repeatedly. The controller was in the house, unused and not in shock mode. We have no neighbors nearby. Although the collars should have a 20 second limit and then stop automatically. This one got past him even after we took it off her neck. Even if someone else had a controller on the same frequency, they would have to stop. Be careful with this collar. We have a dog that runs and keeps coming back to beep or maybe vibrate. She was shocked for just a second to know it was there. It scared her and made me want to ever buy "cheap" things like that. Sometimes you get something for the price of quality. It will never touch my dog's neck again.
