They look ridiculous but they help a lot in winter when everything is so dry. I usually leave it on for a TV show (maybe an hour), then take it off and rub in the leftovers. Really helps with hydration, I don't need to use my intense winter lip balm nearly as often with them on a regular basis. I use it once, once or twice a week and have noticed a definite difference, my lips don't get as dry anymore. As for the taste? I don't eat or lick it, so I don't know how it tastes. I'm not even sure you should do that. As for cleanliness. The mask is not transparent. it's pink When you remove the mask, what's left is clear so your lips don't get dirty. Just rub them in and your lips will look well moisturized. To be honest I'm not sure if there's an increase, I haven't noticed it, but it's not really something these masks excel at. They perfectly moisturize for several days. Despite how silly they look, they actually work and the cost is manageable. Ideal for the winter months when skin becomes very dry.
