Review on Enhance Your Home Automation with TP-Link 🏠 KP100KIT Kasa Wi-Fi Smart Plug Slim Edition 2-Pack by Ricky Gilbert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Compact, easy to set up and reliable. Another winner from TP-Link.

I've had good experiences with TP-Link devices in the past, so I had high hopes for these little WiFi jacks and they didn't disappoint. Just plug them in and use the Kasa app to set them up. You can also control them with your voice if you're an Echo user - adding them as new devices is easy via the Alexa app. (They're also compatible with Google Home devices.) 2) They're small and unobtrusive, sticking out about an inch and a half from the outlet. And because they're so compact, you CAN plug two of them, one on top of the other, into the same outlet. 3) You do NOT need a hub as they connect via Wi-Fi - a huge plus! 4) They are very simple. controlled with the Kasa app, which is well designed and quite intuitive. In addition to turning sockets on and off, the app also allows you to schedule lights or other devices to turn on and off at set times. I had no trouble connecting to them and would definitely buy them again. (In fact, I'll almost certainly buy more because I keep finding new places where they can come in handy!) Tip for Echo users: I try to limit the number of different brands and manufacturers of my smart home devices , since each brand usually has its own phone app, adding an extra layer of complexity to the whole setup. But inevitably you will probably have devices from several different brands. If you'd rather set schedules and procedures for outlets, lights, etc. rather than using each individual brand's phone app, you can set all of their schedules using the Alexa app. This greatly simplifies your work as you can see the schedules of all your different devices in ONE application.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
