I bought this to keep the nut slots and grooves on Gibson Explorer and LP guitar bridges smooth. If you play the guitar a lot, the strings will have little grooves in the saddle and bridge saddle. The strings get stuck in tight grooves (this is where you hear the ringing), causing tuning and intonation problems. when your guitar stays out of tune and doesn't play or sound like it used to. Smooth out the slots for the nuts and seat. Take it easy. You're not removing any material, you're just smoothing out the grooves
