Exactly what it should be.

That's exactly what we need. It's thick enough to fill the space between the carpet and the floor, but not so thick that it kneads the carpet when you walk on it. It sticks to the floor in such a way that I can reposition the rug as I lay it out so the backing isn't showing. Good value too. Highly recommended.
