Review on Nobsound NS 10P Audio Pre Amplifier Control by Raysean Forth

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ideal desktop preamp

This little preamp works great between my computer and some basic powered speakers. The tubes only add a bit of gain since this model doesn't have silicon op amps, but that's what I want. Just a little more analog punch en route to the speakers. The bass and treble control is excellent. Whether tubes make the sound better or not is always subjective; But with analog bass and treble controls, you have plenty of options to make whatever you hear more enjoyable. This is a class A amplifier, which is the best type of circuit to ensure fidelity. And the amplifier circuit is built on tubes only, no transistor or silicon amplification. So this is exactly what you want to use in a more analog + tube system. That's not my goal; but the design of this thing ticks all the "Hi-Fi" requirements in my book. And she looks cool too. With small blue LEDs that light up at the bottom of the tubes. It's a little bigger than a deck of cards, very small but looks solid and well built. The rubber feet on the bottom are very nice; additionally "tenacious" so that he cannot be easily hit or pushed. After a lot of reading I'm going to get a "matched pair" of 5654W tubes to further boost the performance of this little preamp. In the event that the included 6J1 tubes fail, simply try the equivalent GE USA design of the same tube type to compare fidelity. Pairs of lamps that are matched to one another and have the same circuit properties are another push for "real" hi-fi when using lamps. It's hard to tell if the included 6J1s will fit or not; but they sound great to me.
