As socks they were good, they are the thickest of any black sock I have ordered from several sellers so good if you are looking for extra cushioning, not so good if thicker socks are yours make shoes/boots too tight. My big issue with them is that they attract MUCH more pet hair and lint than any of my dozens of other socks, so they wash a lot better and they never look as clean as my other socks and need a touch up. after washing, pull off small balls of villi from them. It's the texture that causes the pile and pet hair to tangle, requiring it to be torn off rather than coming off smoothly (ie a lint roller would be useless). So if you have a lot of fur babies like me and they are too busy to add an extra washing step, keep looking ;)
