No shelf. The edges are clean cut and neat. The light blue (turquoise) color is what I wanted. It fits well on my desk and lays flat. I wouldn't recommend ironing out a few creases with a warm iron, they'll straighten out on their own. Use a paper towel to prevent hot food from leaving a temporary mark. It doesn't smell like vinyl. So it works.
