PiTFT seems to have been used before. The adhesive strips on the back of the LCD have already peeled off and lost their "stickiness". The cable got disconnected from the board and it took me a few minutes to figure out how to plug it back in. (For those wondering, there are two black tabs that need to be pulled to the side to unlock the clip.) . I got it working using the instructions on the Adafruits website and everything works fine.
