I am a big tea drinker, I needed a really good teapot to replace my old one as I drink about 10 cups of tea a day. I chose this kettle for two reasons: Good Housekeeping voted it "Best Kettle" and it was expensive compared to other kettles. These two factors gave me the idea that I'm going to get a great teapot. Unfortunately this couldn't be further from the truth and I returned the kettle for the following reasons: 1) It is not a pressure cooker. It took 8 minutes and 32 seconds to boil 1.75 liters of water. It is too long. 2) There is an odd protrusion where the glass meets the metal. This will prevent the water from draining out completely, even if you turn the kettle completely upside down and shake it. 3) It was a deal breaker. I could endure point 1 and 2. The kettle made the water taste awful, especially when there was some water left in the kettle and boiling it again. It had an odd taste, like plastic combined with metal. I tried boiling the kettle over and over again to get the flavor working but it just wouldn't go away. When you opened the lid and stuck your nose into the top of the kettle, the exact smell you could smell was very noticeable. So I went back to the drawing board and searched for the perfect teapot!
