The device has only two connections. This means you have to unscrew and unplug the soldering iron every time you want to switch to the desoldering block. I'm not overly thrilled with how difficult it was to add a second plug and channel. The device even says it's on channel 2, but there's no way to change channels. Why did it even catch fire if it can't do that feature? No problems with it so far, seems to be working fine. The quality of handhelds corresponds exactly to that of cheaper models. However, the base unit is much better. An added bonus, it comes with spare parts that cheaper units don't have. Good to know that when my heat gun decides it's done I'll have to install a new coil to get back to work.
