I wanted an extra backpack for my kid to carry when we go camping so I don't carry ALL the water and food for the whole family. That's why it's a good choice. It has two straps for a backpack - this is not a sling or string bag. The straps are soft, so your child won't complain when they walk for hours. Backpack made of VERY thin fabric. Allows to be stowed in a tiny pocket for easy portability BUT I have a feeling that if you often carry a full water bottle the fabric tears relatively easily. So not sure if this backpack will last, but we've had several day hikes with a full bottle of water inside and relatively few complaints from the kid who carried it.
